i had my first day of work at The Michener Institute today. it was pretty cool. essentially i am administering one of their pilot programs, so i'm in charge of the day to day details (contacting faculty and booking resources). the place is a medical technologist's college so there is a lot of labs and other facilities available that need to be managed and stuff. it seems like a good job so far and it's cool because it's a lot of independent work and i kinda plan my own day.
pics from the weekend are still a work in progress, or so carole tells me. she has downloaded them from her camera into her computer but hasn't resized them for web use yet. i seriously need to get her a copy of Flock installed so she can easily upload stuff to Flickr. it resizes all your photos automatically as well as providing a place to store them online so you can link to them. explaining this to carole is one thing, setting it up on her computer is another. any normal 5 minute project becomes an evening long commitment with her beast of a laptop. it's like trying to put together a desk from ikea, only the directions were written by satan's slightly more malicious twin brother. so, basically, it's like putting together a desk from ikea...
