never enough time...

god damn.

never enough time to get everything done. here's a snapshot of the weekend:

friday: got off work at 3:15pm and went directly home. carole was not going to be home until 8:15pm so i had the whole afternoon to put some solid work into my latest tune. unfortunately there was extremely loud construction happening in my building until 5 so that cut a huge chunk of time out. then i spent from 5 to 7 wrestling with the VariOS trying to get it to work. managed to figure out a decent chunk of the technical issues but by that point i was tired and hungry so i made dinner and spent the rest of the evening cruising the net and watching tv with carole.

saturday: got up around 9am. spent the morning cleaning the apartment after which i managed to squeeze in about an hour of work on the new tune, but not really enough to make any serious headway. in the early afternoon my parents dropped the van off and carole, mark and i spent the afternoon driving around the city getting errands done. we finally managed to hit the british food importers and spent a small fortune on imported british junk food (we got a couple of healthier things too, but it was mostly chocolate and cookies and stuff). mark picked up a few choice items as well. then in the evening mark dropped by and we watched the Matrix, which i hadn't seen in a long time.

sunday: got up around 10am. spent the morning working on some essays for a course i'm taking through work. at about 1:30 we head over to mark's building and mark and i played squash and then all 3 of us hit the pool. sunday night dinner is becoming a bit of a tradition and this week mark made lasagne and cream spinach which was excellent and then we watched 310 to Yuma which was a totally kick ass movie.

so in total i think i spent about 4 or 5 hours working on music this weekend. the problem was that it was an hour here and an hour there and most of it was spent working out the kinks in my new gear. i'm hoping to be able to get a bit more time in this week but things keep getting in the way. i need to find time to do a block of work all in one go, as that seems to be a lot more productive. at any rate, i'm still optimistic that i will achieve my goal of releasing my new mix before the end of the month.
