i got started on the remix of Zombootie. it's a lot twitchier than the original and i'm really liking it. i think it's got a bit of an oldskool hard house flavor to it, but with a very electro house sound. production is going really quickly so i'm figuring it will be done by the sunday evening provided i get a good chunk of time to work on it over the weekend.
i decided not to use the VariOS on this track. it's not fully set up in the studio yet and i'd rather not struggle with it as is. i wanted to get this track rolled out so it can sit in a spot that's waiting for it in my new mix. i'm also still waiting for the part i ordered to arrive so i can properly hook up the VariOS and integrate it into my setup. i predict it will arive either friday or monday (hopefully when someone is home to sign for it). once it's here i need to do a bit of cable soldering and program some control templates for my ReMOTE and then i can get started actually using the bloody thing.
Gobs is coming over tonight to work on tunes. i think we are going to tinker with some accapellas and i might get started showing him some tricks on ableton. i'd like to hold off starting any new tracks until i'm done the Zombootie remix because my attention span can be rather limited and if i start something else i'll never finish my current projects...
oh yeah, an update on the download link to the original Zombootie mix: Gobs has the mastered copy and i'm just waiting for him to upload it so i can post a link. i'm thinking that will probably happen tonight. if he hasn't uploaded it by the time he gets to my place we can do it then. so you should have some new choonage to load in your ipods soon.
i know the anticipation is keeping you up at night... just take some deep breaths, you can do it.
