an entertaining subway ride...

my subway ride home today was punctuated by an amusing event that i thought i would share. as we were pulling out of a station the train came to an abrupt stop, paused for about a second and then resumed it's movement. a moment later, the train conductor (do they call subway operators conductors?) came over the PA and announced:

"Do not play with the doors. Do NOT play with the doors. If you mess with the doors it will cause the train to enter an emergency stop and everyone on the train will want to beat the crap out of you. Don't play with the doors, it's dangerous and stupid."

pretty much the whole train found this very amusing and it certainly made my ride home that much more entertaining.
